DATA

VC firms don't publish their profits. Fund returns (IRR, gains, losses) are private, shared only with the firm's own investors. What follows instead is the closest honest picture: real, verified early bets these firms made — and how those bets have performed as public stocks, once the company went public. Type in today's price for any holding to see it update.

Methodology & Sources

Rankings: firms are ordered by assets under management (AUM), highest to lowest. AUM figures are approximate — venture firms round these numbers in public statements, and totals shift as new funds are raised. Treat the ranking as a snapshot of relative scale, not a precise or constantly current figure.

What Is The Power Score™?

The Power Score™ is The VC Power Board's proprietary rating system that measures the overall influence, performance, and impact of a venture capital firm within the U.S. venture capital ecosystem.

Unlike rankings based solely on assets under management or unicorn investments, the Power Score™ combines multiple factors to provide a more complete picture of a firm's long-term strength, influence, and industry significance.

Every score is calculated using The VC Power Board's independent methodology and is updated as new information becomes available.

What Does The Power Score™ Measure?
Portfolio Performance
Success of current and past investments, including unicorns, IPOs, acquisitions, and category-leading companies.
Industry Influence
Reputation, leadership, thought leadership, and overall impact on the venture capital ecosystem.
Investment Activity
Consistency, quality, and breadth of investments across sectors and stages.
Fund Strength
Fundraising history, scale of capital managed, institutional stability, and long-term presence.
Founder Appeal
Overall attractiveness to founders based on reputation, network, operational support, and founder experience.
Innovation & Market Leadership
Ability to identify emerging technologies, invest in transformative companies, and remain at the forefront of venture capital.

These categories are combined using The VC Power Board's proprietary methodology to generate a single Power Score™ between 0 and 100.

Important Note

The Power Score™ is not a prediction of future investment returns or financial performance.

Instead, it is designed to measure a firm's overall standing, influence, and historical impact within the venture capital industry using publicly available information and The VC Power Board's proprietary evaluation framework.

As markets evolve, portfolios mature, and new investments are made, Power Scores™ may change over time.

The Philosophy Behind The Power Score™
The Power Score™ is designed to answer one question: "How influential and powerful is this venture capital firm within today's venture capital ecosystem?"

Rather than measuring a single statistic, the Power Score™ combines performance, reputation, investment success, founder appeal, and long-term industry impact into one comprehensive rating.

Portfolio companies: each firm's listed holdings are early-stage investments that are publicly confirmed — either by the firm itself, by the company's own IPO/SEC filings, or by reputable financial reporting. Only companies that are now publicly traded are shown, since that's the only way to verify a real, checkable return.
